My name is Terry the director, Jubilee Ministries

First, I started Jubilee Ministries out of a desperate need for accountability and healing. I attended a NEW MAN 2001 ralley in Orlando, Fl and was told by two of the keynote speakers, (Dr. Ted Roberts & Dr. Douglas Weiss) it only takes 1 man in 1 city to stand up and make a difference. God put it on my heart to do just that, to be that 1 man. I returned to Chattanooga, TN a changed person, I was a man with a mission, I had a calling on my life, I was going to be faithful with what The Lord had ask me to do. Afterwards the Lord revealed Isaiah 61 to me;

What Happened back in Chattanooga, Tn

My associate pastor and best friend Dan ask me what it would take to get a men's group started. I responded in quick order, finally an open door, after several weeks of seeking God direction and His Will. Dan and I formed a Freedom Group.

 On November 5th 2001, the first Jubilee meeting took place, it was small, but "where 2 or 3 gather in My name, there I am also". This group of men meets every week to share their strengths, hope, & experiences. They are not "perfect" but they are "REAL". They are "Real Men, Serving a Real God". It is important to understand that these men want freedom, need freedom, have got to have freedom or they will die! They are no longer interested in keeping their "mask" on, the mask they have hidden behind all their life. These men are into "telling the truth even when it hurts" & "asking and answering the hard questions".  This bunch of men may be "rough around the edges" or "brash" if you will; however they are transparent. What you see is what you get, no masks allowed... If you are interested in "true intimacy", "walking in integrity" & "humility and honesty", then you have come to a safe place to experience it. If you are looking for a place to "play recovery" or just do enough to "maintain an image of recovery" this will be a very lonely place for you.I encourage you, press in, do the work, tell the truth, and reach out and ask for help.

Where They are now...

Well, The Lord is Good! After almost 3 years of recovery, I (Terry) am The Director of Jubilee Ministries. Dan has moved into starting the Men's Ministry at our church. I Thank Dan for all his support and guideance in my early recovery, in Feb of 2001 I was a new member of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Chattanooga; I was sexualy addicted, selfish, and a mess! Jesus formed a bond between Dan and I that was an instant friendship, Dan prayed with and for me, Dan mentored and counceled with me, most of all Dan accepted me for who I was.  Thanks Dan!
